DIY Daily Updates

Beginning next week our little superheroes will be updating the blog with a short blurb sharing a highlight of our day.  The students will each have a turn to reflect on the day to come up with a sentence or two, or three, to share what they learned in class via a brief blogpost.  Hopefully this will give you a glimpse of what we are working on in class as well as a compilation of a-ha moments throughout the year as we learn at lightning speed in Room 206.  Stay tuned for our first post next week and keep an eye out for your little journalist's view to be shared right here on our blog!  Your comments and feedback are both encouraged and appreciated!

Creative Writing Wednesdays

Every Wednesday I will post a writing prompt.  Before the end of the first trimester you must choose 4 prompts to respond to on this blog.  Respond by leaving a comment.  Students can complete this assignment during their "Daily 5" independent work time or as homework.  I cannot wait to hear your responses!  Have no fear, my little Superheroes, there are no wrong answers!  Remember to use proper punctuation and let your imagination soar!  Responses must be at least 5 sentences.

Be a Third Grade Superhero!

Welcome to Third Grade at Riley School!  Our team theme for the 2012-2103 school year is Superheroes.  A new school year signals a fresh start for each and every one of our incoming students.  We want our students to develop good study habits and social skills, work hard to do their best work, listen and learn loads, and have fun along the way!  Put on your cape and mask and get ready to soar to new heights!


This year you will achieve Superhero Status if you follow in the footsteps of our Third Grade Superheroes:
